New pages: The 1910 Midlands Aviation Meeting!

Postby Anders » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:26 pm

The first national British aviation meeting was held on June 27th - July 2nd 1910, at the Dunstall Park racecourse in Wolverhampton. The meeting itself was considered an organizational success, but the weather was very windy most of the time and nothing very special was achieved. Twelve pilots made flights and around half of them crashed. Claude Grahame-White and Launcelot Gibbs on Farmans and Cecil Grace on a Short were the only pilots who managed flights of more than ten minutes.
