At last: thefirstairraces.net is launched!

Hi everybody!

After more than a year of preparations, complications, coding, recoding and hesitation thefirstairraces.net was finally launched on May 2nd, 2013! I hope that the site and its forums will serve as a meeting-place for enthusiasts of early aviation and that it will help finding and preserving the facts about the first air race meetings.

I would like to thank everybody who has helped by providing information and by helping with the creation of the site. It was created mainly as a one-man effort, but it's certainly not the intention that it should remain so. All kinds of contributions are welcome - research, documentation, writing, everything! Much remains to do: There's still a meeting to go in 1909 and many in 1910. Many photos and much information can be added to the pages that have already been published. The intention is to progress meeting by meeting in chronological order.
