The 1909 Vichy meeting: Photos needed!

If you have looked at the main site you will have noticed that there are very few photos from Vichy, and none that show any planes. Do you know of any photos?

Hello.

Good luck with this site, it's an excellent idea.

Not much on Vichy, as you say. The attached photo of a Wright (presumably Tissandier's) was apparently taken there.

Thanks for posting the photo!
As a matter of fact, I already had a postcard with that photo, but I wasn't sure it was from 1909, since I have seen photos of a Wright with a similar number claimed to be from the 1910 Vichy meeting. I also doubted that they would have used race numbers at a meeting where so few planes flew. Now having heard from you, and also seen that photo and one of Zipfel's Voisin carrying a race number in Icare 222, I trust that it is from 1909. An update of the Vichy pages is on its way.

It might actually have been the first "official" marking ever carried on an airplane?

Having decided to after all include all the Vichy photos that I have, I also took the opportunity to go through the references one more time and revise all the Vichy pages, which were actually written a couple of years ago. Still missing good photos of most the planes, though...
